What are three things you can’t live without while on tour?

I can’t live without my wife, kids and Chihuahuas, but I have to live without them while on the road. So while on tour, I can’t live without pictures of my wife and kids, my cell phone to call home and talk to them, and, also, being on tour with good friends. If you’re on tour with people who are tough to get along with, it makes it a lot harder on the road. Being with great people makes it better. There are certain traits you get along with better. It makes it smooth when it’s that way.

What’s your favorite candy?

I’m going to say Almond Joy

What’s your favorite Starbucks drink?

Vanilla Bean Frappuccino.

Favorite Stryper memory?

Probably playing in Seoul, Korea in ‘89 in the stadium built for the Olympics. It was bizarre, freaky and weird. It was filmed for 40 million people. It was definitely a one-of-a-kind thing. The crowd started rioting, and we had to stop after the first song. It took 45 minutes to an hour to get to song number two. It was just bizarre.

Looking back, what’s the most important thing you’ve learned?

I would say to enjoy every moment and realize it can end at any time. In this business, think you have forever, nothing lasts forever. It’s important to make the most of every moment and love people as best you can. Make every moment matter.

Most recent funniest moment while on tour?

After a while, it all starts blurring together. I’ve had a handful of things that weren’t funny. It would be my daughter, who is five years old, calling and talking to me about UFOs and flying saucers. It just startles me so much that I end up laughing and telling everybody about it. I joke with her about flying saucers. She is so smart. I do stuff to see if she can catch on, and she does. She’s five going on 14.

Tours require a lot of travel time… what’s your favorite thing to do to pass the time on the bus?

I must admit I’m a big TV junkie. I love watching TV and reading. I’m big muscle-car nut. I have a stack of muscle car magazines. I also enjoy just hanging out.

The greatest band of all time is?

Tell something interesting about the drums you’re playing now?

Yes, they are all custom made, from Ddrum. They’re the greatest I’ve ever had. They’re all custom sizes, all glittery and have yellow and black stripes. They’re unusual sizes. I absolutely love them.

Favorite food?

Indian food. Before going to England, I must’ve introduced thirty people to it, and they all flipped out over it

Favorite Stryper song to play live?

“The Rock That Makes Me Roll.” It’s just has double kick and it’s fun.
